Step 4: Examining the brand name registration application

Upon receipt of the application, the Registrar checks whether the brand name is in compliance with the law and does not conflict with or conflict with other existing registered or pending brands. That’s why we said, witty brand name, folks!

Step 5: Publication in Indian Trademark Journals

After the test, the logo or brand name will have the publish in the Indian Trademark Journal. If no one raises an objection within 3 months, i.e. 90 days or in some cases 120 days, from the date of publication, the brand name will be accepted.

Step 6: Issuance of Trademark Registration Certificate

If no one has any objection, within the prescribed 90 days, the Registrar will accept the trademark application! And issues a certificate of brand registration under the trademark registry stamp. Once the certificate is issued, you may now have permission to use the registered trademark symbol (®) next to your brand name. The whole process of registering a trademark brand name usually takes anything between 15-18 months.
